Nancy Stafford is familiar to millions as Andy Griffith's law partner on the TV series "Matlock". She's been a series regular on six TV series, including five years on "Matlock", three years on the Emmy-award winning "St Elsewhere", ABC’s "Sidekicks", and began her acting career as a regular on the NBC daytime drama "The Doctors".
Her 25+ episodic roles include “Scandal”, “The Mentalist” and “Frasier” and her latest films include “Heaven Bound”, “Heritage Falls”, “A Mermaid’s Tale”, and “I’m Not Ashamed”, the true story of Rachel Joy Scott, the first student killed in the Columbine shooting. She is the ‘Christmas queen’ with Hallmark favorites “Chrismas with a Capital C”, “Christmas for a Dollar” and “Christmas Oranges”. And her short film “Common Threads” won 2017 Best Film at California Women’s Film Festival, IFS, and Best Shorts Competition. Nancy is the 'voice' in numerous projects--from Mattel video games to PBS documentaries. And she recently co-produced, co-wrote, and co-stars in the TV pilot Generation 4.0.
Nancy is the author of two books published by Penguin-Random House/Multnomah. Beauty by the Book: Seeing Yourself as God Sees You, was called by ASSIST News Service, "one of the most valuable Christian books to be published in decades". Nancy shares her story of God's healing and transformation in her life from insecurities and unworthiness to wholeness and acceptance. She shares the scriptural truths we need to know to find freedom from our pasts and freedom from the bondage of our culture's standards. She has Hosted several TV series, including “Love, Marriage, and Stinking Thinking“ with Mark Gungor, and for ten years hosted "Main Floor", the fashion, beauty, and lifestyle series that aired in over 40 countries around the world. She visited Haiti with Convoy of Hope following the earthquake to bring awareness and help to that ravaged nation as Host of the TV Special "A Child Needs You". She visited Israel, the Ukraine, and Belarus hosting TV specials "On Wings of Eagles" and "Operation Isaiah 58", and hosted "Where Heaven and Earth Meet" for the state of Israel.
A former Miss Florida in the Miss America Pageant, Nancy is a native of Ft. Lauderdale and a Journalism graduate of the University of Florida. In New York she became a top model with the Ford Model Agency and appeared in over 250 commercials before beginning her acting career.
Off-screen Nancy serves on the The Greenhouse Arts & Media board–- a network of entertainment industry professionals investing in the next generation of writers, directors, producers, actors and below-the–line technicians, Biola University Studio Task Force, and The Dove Foundation Advisory Board. She is a frequent speaker and Guest Artist/Faculty member at media events and performing arts schools and colleges nationwide.
Her longstanding interest and love for the Middle East led her to visit Egypt, Lebanon, and Cyprus and host “Partnering for the Impossible” about SAT-7 Christian satellite television’s impact in the Arab and Muslim world. For six years she served on the US Board of SAT-7, a Christian satellite television network with indigenous programming produced by and for Christians living in the Middle East and North Africa. Each week 15 million people watch SAT-7, broadcasting on five channels in Arabic, Turkish, and Farsi languages.
She now serves as Chair of SAT-7 Women for Middle East Hope, connecting women in the West with the spiritual and practical needs of women in the Middle East and North Africa to produce real hope and change. She is a frequent guest on 700 Club, Daystar, 100 Huntley Street, Family Life and Revive Our Hearts Radio, among others.
Nancy's husband, Larry Myers, is a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary, has been a pastor and worship musician since 1975 when he helped establish the original Vineyard Christian Fellowship, and has helped establish four other churches in the Los Angeles area. The focus of his ministry has been teaching, counseling, and the pastoral care of artists and musicians. He was a member of the Chuck Girard Band, and as a concert musician appeared with Bernie Leadon (Eagles), T-Bone Burnett, and many others. He has recorded with numerous artists including Bob Dylan, Johnny Rivers, Anne Herring, Brenton Brown. He also appeared frequently on the Vineyard worship series "Touching the Father's Heart".
Nancy and Larry have been married for 28 years. She’s had numerous roles over the years, but her favorite is step-mom to beautiful Katie and grandma to 16 year old Blake.
